HEATED ARGUMENT LEADS TO HACKING
A truck driver was hacked dead by his neighbor following a heated argument shortly before Friday midnight in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur province, police reports said on Saturday.

Reports reaching the Philippine National Police operations center in Camp Crame identified the victim as Ronald Aberlado Bucayon, alias “Dondon”, 32, married, of Brgy. Poblacion, Bayugan. Responding policemen arrested the hacker Camaloden Benito Abdula, 34, married, of Purok 1A, Brgy. Tagalatawan in the same city. The reports said that the hacking incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the two were talking at Purok 18, Buri St., Brgy. Tagalawan when a heated argument ensued between the two. Abdula, in the middle of their argument, reportedly drew out a two-foot long bolo and started hacking and hitting the victim several times in his body and killing him almost instantly, the reports said. TRUCK RAMS TRICYCLE, KILLS 2 CHILDREN
TWO children were killed and six others were injured after a dump truck rammed a tricycle on Friday, along a road inside a hacienda in Negros Occidental province, police reports said on Saturday. Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., Western Visayas Police director, named the fatalities as Johna Aquino, 8, and her five-year-old brother Jessie, both of Murcia, Negros Occidental. Injured are Ma. Jenie Zarceno, 36; John Mark Zarceno, 10; Jojo Ledesman 34; Igmedio Mediodia, 49; Janet Porque, 40; and Sandy Zarceno, all are from Murcia town, Cruz said. The police official, quoting reports, said that the accident took place at about 7:30 a.m. on Friday, along the inside of Hacienda Guadalope in Purok Linasan, Brgy. Salvacion, Murcia. Victims were on board a tricycle, driven by Sandy Zarceno, when it collided with a dump truck (YAM-962) driven by Reggie Espada, 27, of Lopez, Silay City, the police official said. ANTHONY VARGAS

VILLAGE OFFICIAL COLLARED FOR ILLEGAL POSSESSION
A village official was nabbed by the police for illegal possession of a firearm on Saturday at a checkpoint in suburban village in Iloilo City, police reports said. Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., Western Visayas police director, identified the arrested village official as Roel Diaz, 50, married, of Tumcon Ilaya, Pototan, Iloilo. The police official said that Diaz was nabbed by a police team led by Insp. Raymund Delijiro at a checkpoint at Brgy. Butatala, Jaro district in Iloilo. Cruz, quoting reports said that Diaz was driving a red Kawasaki motorcycle when he was stopped by the police for a routine inspection. The police, in plain view, saw a fully loaded .45 pistol at his waistband, reports said. ANTHONY VARGAS
