3 motorcycle riding gunmen felled in Cavite

THREE motorcycle riding gunmen were killed by the police in an encounter following a preempted robbery on Thursday in Dasmariñas City, police reports said.


Reports reaching the Philippine National Police central operations center in Camp Crame said that the shoot-out between policemen and the riders occurred at about 8:15 a.m. at Brgy. Luzvinda 1.

The reports said that police elements of in the city where conducting follow-up operations in the area when they sighted the suspects, on an unlicensed black Yamaha motorcycle.

The suspects were reportedly roaming near the vicinity of a Western Union remittance shop, apparently planning to rob the establishment prompting the police to approach them, the reports said.

The reports said that the suspects opened fire at the approaching policemen triggering a firefight that resulted in the killing of the three suspects, one of them identified as Reynaldo Oferania.

Police are still conducting an investigation to determine the identities of the two other suspects killed in the gun-battle, the reports said.
