A Tarlac-based construction firm has urged the Ombudsman to act on the graft case against Gov. Victor Yap and five other provincial officials.
Jesus Ronaldo Espinosa, a private contractor who filed the charges of violation of Republic Act 3019, or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act against Yap, also leveled the same charges to Celia Aquino, provincial administrative assistant; Victoria Salvador, provincial treasurer; Lorenzo Macaraeg, Budget officer; Roberto Ventura, provincial administrator; and Jesus Navarro, special project head.
Espinoza said that Yap along with his five officials failed to pay him over P4-million construction and infrastructure project, which his firm has completed.
The case was filed at the Ombudsman in October this year, but according to Espinosa, the process of evaluating his charges against Yap and other Tarlac provincial officials has been crawling at a snail’s pace prompting him to seek media’s help.
