Some 33 selected villagers finished the training conducted at the Almacen River that caused too much flooding during the rainy season. Some of them even showed how to respond to a victim of a motorcycle accident. The mayor justified the distribution of rescue boats even to some barangays not considered as low-lying but were heavily affected also by habagat. Recipients of rescue boats aside from the three barangays were the villages of Daungan, Almacen, A. Rivera, Saba, Pulo, Burgos-Soliman and Mabuco. The motorized rescue boat reportedly costs P100,000 each. ERNIE B. ESCONDE
