The World Bank has extended for another year the funding for the national program support of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), to help the agency in completing its priority programs.

In an interview, Environment Secretary Ramon Paje said that the funding extension by the Washington-based lender was prompted by the “substantial improvement” in the performance of the Environment agency under the five-year National Program Support for the Environment and Natural Resources Management Project (NPS-ENRMP).

“The funding extension for the NPS-ENRMP will provide impetus in the completion of the programs, which have a long-term and profound impact on the lives of all Filipinos,” Paje said.
