City sets measures against riding-in-tandem criminals
POLICE in Bacoor City gears up for a tough crackdown on riding-in-tandem criminals who have targeted business establishments in Cavite.
Immediately after assuming post as officer-in-charge of police station in the city, P/Supt. Ronaldo Mendoza created a quick response team composed of teams of two well-armed, motorcycle-riding policemen to counter the said criminals operating in the jurisdiction of the city’s police.
According to records of in the police provincial office in Cavite, heists perpetrated by riding-in-tandem suspects have been on an upward trend during the holidays.
The said records also suggest that the heists would show no signs of abating in light of the upcoming midterm elections despite a Commission on Elections-imposed gun ban that will run from January 13 to July 13 next year.
Mendoza said that to fight the said criminals, he ordered his uniformed men to set up daily checkpoints in all strategic areas like supermarkets, banks and business establishment.
He also added that Bacoor Mayor Strike Revilla has promised his logistics support for the creation of a fully armed police mini SWAT in Bacoor to fight notorious criminals.
