VACC bats for probe of Batangas arson-slay

VOLUNTEERS Against Crime and Corruption Founding chairman is now calling on Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas 2nd to conduct an investigation on the brutal slay of three people inside a burning vehicle in the town of San Pascual in Batangas province.

Jimenez also asked newly installed Director Alan Purisima, National Police chief, to lead the investigation saying that he is not convinced with claims of P/Chief Rufino Luistro of San Pascual, Batangas that the victims were merely brought to the town but were killed somewhere else.

Jimenez said that the fact that the victims were burned at the town shows a lack of proper police visibility and security for the residents.

He expressed fears that the town might be the next “Kill Zone” or “Drop Zone” of dead bodies or salvaged victims since there is poor security by the police.

Jimenez also said that the current administration should also bring back the death penalty.

“This is a very cruel act. This is why we are campaigning hard to bring back the death penalty in the country,” Jimenez said.

Jimenez did not spare the town mayor, saying that peace and security of the residents in the area should be top priority. No specific order has been done to expedite the investigation, despite the looming threat of being tagged as a Drop Zone for salvage victims.
