The Capampangan in Media Inc. (CAMI) will elect a new board of directors for 2013 to 2014 when members meet on December 28 at the Bale Balita office building in Angeles City.

Organized six years ago, CAMI is a national organization of Capampangan journalists, writers and artists that seeks to help raise levels of professionalism in mass media.

The group also strives to make contributions to Pampanga’s art, culture and history, help train young talents interested in mass media and to promote camaraderie and networking among members.

CAMI is headed by Cris Icban Jr., chairman and Federico Pascual, president. Fred de la Rosa is vice chairman and Ernesto Tolentino is vice president, respectively.

It has hosted media forums in Metro Manila and Pampanga with noted lawmakers and Cabinet members as principal speakers.

The association has published two books: a volume of poetry by poet and journalist John Manalili and a history of Capampangan journalism during the Spanish colonial period.

Bale Balita serves as the CAMI regional office, a workplace for the Pampanga Press Club and a training center for campus writers. It is located at the Clark Development Corp. Complex in Angeles.
