A four-year-old boy was killed after he was accidentally ran over by a motorcycle on Christmas Day in Cagwait, Surigao del Sur province, police reports said on Thursday.
Reports at the Philippine National Police operations center in Camp Crame identified the fatality Jasper Lomoljoy Gomez, while the motorcycle driver was Mary Maica Jamarie Buladaco, 25, of Barangay Maon, Butuan City.
The reports said that the victim was crossing the national highway in Purok-Cempron, Barangay Tubo-Tubo in Cagwait when he was hit and dragged for several meters by the motorcycle driven by Buladaco.
Gomez, who sustained multiple head injuries was rushed to the Marihatag District Hospital in Surigao del Sur for treatment but was declared dead on arrival, reports said.
Reports said that Buladaco who was driving without a driver’s license and the motorcycle that has no Official Receipt and Certification of Registration was placed under the custody of the municipal police station in Cagwait for proper disposition.
