A public utility motorcycle driver was shot dead early dawn on Sunday by two still unidentified gunmen in Lianga town in Surigao del Sur, police reports said on Tuesday.

Reports reaching at the PNP central operations center in Camp Crame identified the fatality as Edwin Ferrer, 49, of Barobo town in Surigao del Sur.

The reports said that Ferrer was attacked at about 1 a.m. on Sunday by two gunmen while driving his motorcycle along a road in Barangay Anibongan in Lianga town. The victim was hit on his head and abdomen killing him instantly, while the gunmen fled immediately after the shooting, the reports said.
