Cordillera records smooth implementation of cash transfer program

BAGUIO CITY: Last year has been a good year for the implementation of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), otherwise known as the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program in Cordillera, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-CAR) in its recent year-ender media forum reported.

On its fourth year of implementation in the region last year, the CCT has already reached out to 54,903 household beneficiaries in all the six provinces covering 75 municipalities and two cities in Cordillera that represent 82.66 percent of the identified 66,423 poor households in the region, the program’s regional target.

From January to December 18, 2012, the program has released a total of P322.17 million in cash grants in the entire region.

The DSWD-CAR also reported a 92.76 percent resolution rate or an average of nine out 10 complaints received from beneficiaries that were resolved.

DSWD-CAR also recorded a compliance rate that is within the 95 percent target established by the CCT’s National Program Management Office.

For the required 85 percent school attendance per month of children three to five years old and children six to 14 years old, Cordillera recorded an actual compliance rate of 96.37 and 95.88 percent, respectively.

For the required bi-monthly health center visit of children zero to five years old and pregnant women, the region recorded an actual compliance rate of 96.26 and 99.79 percent, respectively.

CCT beneficiaries in Cordillera also registered a 92 percent compliance rate in terms of participation in the monthly Family Development Sessions (FDS).

For the continuing smooth implementation of the program, DSWD-CAR headed by Regional Director Leonardo Reynoso, along with the 4Ps Regional Management Office have put in place measures which include strengthened engagement with concerned national government agencies, local government units, as well as civil society organizations (CSO) in the implementation and monitoring of the program.

Functional Advisory Committees formed in the regional, provincial and municipal level and the various CSOs are also helping in the facilitation of FDS for the program’s family beneficiaries.
