2,000 join Run Rio

MORE THAN 2, 000 runners of all ages joined the United Laboratories-Kaspersky 10-kilometer distance category of run unlimited 2, the second leg of the two-year-old RunRio Trilogy marathon series, on Sunday at the Bonifacio Global City.

The one-day event considered as one of the biggest running events in the Philippines, was joined by Running coach Rio de la Cruz and singer Jay-R to promote an active healthy lifestyle among the running enthusiasts all over the different parts of the country.

“We’re so happy to see the outcome of the event and we’re hoping the third run will be attended by more runners,” said de la Cruz, who also thanked all the participants. “All ages are here and it’s really great that running becomes very popular now.”

Runners participated in the 500-meters, 3k, 5k, 10k and 21k events. “Through our participation at the Run Unlimited 2 event, we hope to be able to make more Filipinos aware of looking after their personal safety as athlete and promote personal safety as Internet users of the Internet,” said Jimmy Fong, the sales director of Kaspersky Lab Anti-Virus in Southeast Asia.
