FAMOUS for its classic outfits that are a throwback to luxurious, seaside holidays, Regatta successfully set sail to a whole new look when it unveiled three new collections: Holiday 2011, Varsity and British Countryside at Philippine Fashion Week 2011. Each collection evokes upscale, stylish and comfy outdoor leisure wear, inspired by the Ivy League heritage that embodies a privileged lifestyle.
Guests were treated to a fun, carefree show that reflects Regatta’s leisurely take on fashion. The brand stayed true to its classic and chic white outfits by showcasing all-white tops and bottoms. The collection also revealed touches of heather gray for a bit of color contrast.
For texture, the collection featured wovens, knits and easy cotton jerseys. A relaxed, yet still polished look was achieved by mixing a blazer with t-shirt and shorts, a look perfect for a weekend in the Hamptons or some sophisticated locale. The silhouette was relaxed, not as body conscious yet it still provided ample form and texture.
Proving that it can go beyond whites and navy blues, Regatta showed its play on colors, as well as patterns and layering highlights with the Varsity collection. In addition, a hint of collegiate plaids, and varsity stripes were playfully styled by contrasting small and large club stripes.
Regatta then boldly stepped away from the coast and made a successful foray into the forest with the British Countryside collection. It showcased earth tones from rich browns to olive, tan, orange and with a hint of blue. Moreover, plaids and florals layered with casual jackets and unstructured blazers in glenn plaid or houndstooth resulted in a more polished look.
