University students to meet for PR Conversity at PLM
What happens when universities converge? This is what students from different universities and colleges in the Philippines will find out in the First National Public Relations (PR) Conversity to be held on January 12, 2013 at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila’s Justo Albert Auditorium.
This year’s Conversity, with the theme “Power through Human Connections,” seeks to recognize the importance of establishing sound connections to yield and maintain power.
Coined from the words “convergence” and “university,” Conversity is a one-day event of lectures and discussions of the different areas concerning the practice of public relations, which are deemed necessary for communication and public relation students.
It aims to establish the power of public relations in strengthening human connections in and out of the corporate world by bringing together students and communication practitioners.
Top communication practitioners in the corporate, government, media and nongovernment organizations will give discussions on the different facets of public relations, the current trends and development in the field and their relevance in society at large.
Conversity will also serve as an avenue where PR, communication and interested students meet and share their knowledge and viewpoints about the practice of public relations in the Philippines.
Conversity is organized by the Junior Public Relations Practitioners of the Philippines, an organization that aims to promote and encourage public relations appreciation and understanding, in cooperation with Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila’s College of Mass Communication.
The Manila Times is among the media partners of the event.
