President Benigno Aquino 3rd has appointed several new government officials, including Rodolfo de Ocampo as undersecretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways.
Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said that de Ocampo who was also appointed member of the Road Board representing the transport and motorist organizations, will have a two year term of office.
De Ocampo, 68, has been the chairman of the Confederation Truckers Association of the Philippines since 2002 and vice president of the Port Users Confederation.
The President also appointed Tomasito Villarin, former convenor of the Reform Autonomous Region in Muslim MindaNow movement, as undersecretary for political affairs, Office of the President.
In the Department of Labor, the President appointed Felix Roberto Oca as member of the governing board of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration representing the sea-based sector. Oca replaced Gregorio Oca. It was not immediately known if the two are relatives.
In the Department of Finance, the President appointed Eulogio Castillo as member of the Cooperative Development Authority board of administrators, representing Luzon; Ma. Lourdes Rubueno and Virgilio Yuzon as members of the board of directors of the National Development Co.; Oliver Butalid as member of the board of governors of the Board of Investments; and Julius Cainglet as member of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council representing the labor sector.
