The Manila Fame’s Design and Lifestyle Event ends today. You still have until 7 pm to see “the soul of the Philippines” through “the art of the craftsman” at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay.
Organized as before by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), Department of Trade and Industry’s the export marketing authority, this time the
Philippine’s greats in the design industry have offered “10 Design Houses, Garden and Fashion Pavilions” in addition to crafts.
As in the past years foreign buyers and design experts—including those who come to copy—had been the most early to register for the event.
If the even director’s word’s below sound both like attempts at poetry and advertising copy, it is because that’s what design events are all about—creativity married to the sell.
“DESIGN AND LIFESTYLE EVENT. Crafted by hand or by machine, products that have a character of soulfulness last. And rather than simply being about “money in, money out” there is passion in their making. This is what we mean when we discuss the Craftsman’s hands working the materials in a language all their own. This is what we mean by THE ART OF THE CRAFTSMAN=THE SOUL OF THE PHILIPPINES. In this is the very essence of QUALITY and how it always without fail connects to the customer.”
