Paul “The Punisher” Williams wants a fight with pound-for-pound (p4p) king Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao and is even willing to go down to catchweight of 145 pounds.
According to an interview conducted by James Slater of eastsideboxing.com, the trainer of Williams, George Peterson, said his boxer wants a fight with Pacquiao possibly next year.
If the fight pushes through, Williams would be the tallest opponent Pacquiao will face at 6’1”. “The Punisher” has fought as high as middleweight (160 pounds) and has beaten a number of noted boxers at welterweight (147 pounds) and super welterweight (also called junior middleweight at 154 pounds).
At 6’1”, Williams has a seven-inch height advantage over Pacquiao and his 82-inch reach gives him an extra 15 inches over the Filipino’s 67-inch wingspan.
However, even if Peterson and Williams want a fight with Pac quiao to happen, they have doubts if it will ever happen.
“But I doubts we will see that fight happen. But Paul would love it, that I guarantee. Like I say, he’s a throwback. People have got to realize that. Not only is Paul the number-one fighter no-one wants to fight—he fights the other fighters nobody wants to fight,” Peterson said.
Williams (37-1 with 27 knockouts) has a reputation of being an “avoided fighter” and it is believed former p4p king Floyd Mayweather Jr. and World Boxing Association welterweight king “Sugar” Shane Mosley do not to fight with him.
“The Punisher” once held the World Boxing Organization welterweight title and is now that organization’s super welterweight champion.
When Peterson was asked by Slater if he was impressed with Pacquiao’s win over former WBO welterweight king Miguel Cotto, the trainer of Williams said “I was. But I expected him [Pacquiao] to stop Cotto a lot sooner than he did.”

Manny can handle 2" to 3" difference height...But 7 inches, you got to be kidding me. He should stay at middle weight where his size belong.
