Court to MMDA: Stop dismantling billboards

A GIANT advertising company scored a legal victory after a Makati court stopped the Department of PublicWorks and Highways (DPWH) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) from dismantling billboards along major thoroughfares in Metro Manila.

Judge Elpidio Calis granted the petition for prohibition and injunction filed by the Outdoor Advertising Association Inc.

The court ruling stops MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino from implementing an intensified campaign dubbed “Operation Roll Down, Baby,” against giant billboards that he said pose threats to motorists and commuters

About 46 billboards along EDSA have already been dismantled by the MMDA.
