S’ German head coach Hans Michael Weiss predicted that a bright future awaits his wards in 2013.
“Next year we will be stronger and we will be taken seriously again by our foreign counterparts,” said Weiss in a text message sent to reporters over the weekend. “We’ve matured a lot and next year will be different.”
Weiss is expecting his contract as coach of the Azkals be renewed after his tenure ends in early 2013.
Under Weiss watch, the Philippines received its highest Federation Internationale De Football Asso-ciation (FIFA) ranking of 143rd last month. The Azkals also made it to the semifinals of Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup early this month.
