Casimero to defend title vs. Rios

INTERNATIONAL Boxing Federation light flyweight champion Jonriel Casimero will defend his title agaist Luis Rios of Panama in early March in a still undetermined venue.

Cebuano boxing promoter Sammy Gello-ani told The Manila Times on Friday that he and his partner, international agent Sampson Lewkowicz are still negotiating whether the fight would be held in the United States or in Panama.

“It is really a big task to hold the fight here because we have to look for big sponsors,” said Gello-ani.

The veteran promoter said that Casimero (17-2 win-loss slate with 10 knockouts) is in top condition to face Rios (18-1-1 card with 13 knockouts).
