Defending champion Adamson University blanked University of Santo Tomas (UST) to complete to sweep the six-game first round of elimination in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 75 softball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Field in Vito Cruz, Manila.
Adamson leads the pack with an unblemished 6-0 mark followed by UST and National University (NU) with 3-2, University of the Philippines (UP), University of the East and De La Salle University with 2-3, and Ateneo de Manila University with 0-5.
In baseball, the NU Bulldogs and the UST Growling Tigers outclassed their respective foes to remain in beaten in two games.
NU blanked Adamson, 16-0, while UST blasted UP, 12-2.
The Bulldogs and the Growling Tigers are sharing the lead with identical 2-0 marks while Adamson and UP are still winless after two attempts.
