The Cultural Center of the Philippines will once again hold the traditional “Simbang Gabi @ d’ CCP” or set of nine dawn masses from December 16 until 24 every 5 a.m. at the CCP Main Ramp.
The highlight of this year’s celebration is the “Misa de Aguinaldo” or Christmas Eve Mass on December 24 at 8 p.m. at the CCP Main Theater. The renowned Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra will perform traditional Christmas carol medleys in welcoming the mass goers prior to the start of the ceremony, while the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group will render a 10-minute excerpt of the reenactment of “Panunuluyan.”
As a finale, the Philippine Madrigal Singers will lead a 100-voice chorale in singing Handel’s Messiah—“Hallelujah Chorus” with live accompaniment of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.
