Asean secretariat photo competition winners awarded

Winners of the recent Association of South East Asian Nations’ (Asean) photo contest were awarded on November 15 in the National Commission for Culture and the Arts’ (NCCA) Sentro Rizal. The ceremony was graced by NCCA Chairman Felipe De Leon Jr.



The competition held by the Asean is in conjunction with the celebration of its 45th anniversary in August. The Culture and Information Division of the Asean Secretariat organized a photo competition with the theme: “ASEAN Unity in Cultural Diversity.” The objectives of the competition are to raise Asean awareness among its citizens and to encourage their participation in its 45th year.

Around 70 photography enthusiasts from Asean Member States joined the Asean Secretariat Photo Competition from July 8 to August 31.

Three winning photos have been selected with Jaime Sumugat Singlador (Philippines) as the first placer, followed by Samuel de Leon (Philippines) at the second place, and Arif Wicaksono (Indonesia) at the third place.

Ten more photos were also selected as favorite winners namely Allan Jay Quesada (Philippines), HansaTangmanpoowadol (Thailand), Samuel de Leon (Philippines), Phoebelyn Gullunan (Philippines), Mark Joseph Tajo Solis (Philippines), Lim Se Tjing (Indonesia), Budi Prakasa (Indonesia), Budi Prakasa (Indonesia) and Edwin Antonio (Philippines).
