Enterprise storage provider EMC Corporation recently announced that it has been positioned as a “Leader” by Gartner, Inc. in the 2012 “Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Content Management (ECM)” research report, demonstrating both the company’s ability to execute and completeness of vision for EMC Documentum.
According to Gartner, “ECM continues to demonstrate value and growth with total software revenue increasing 11.1% annually to $4.3 billion in 2011.”
Gartner reports that “many enterprises are moving well beyond the basic uses of ECM (such as secure file storage in organized libraries), to tackle deeper business requirements that need strong process efficiency as well. This has led organizations to increasingly regard ECM as an environment for solutions that fit their business needs.” Gartner “sees more ECM vendors also offering a lightweight cloud-based environment to address emerging market needs” and notes that “as ECM begins to see increased usage on mobile devices, we expect to see it getting a generational make-over, moving further and further from its roots in networked back-office environments.”
“We are very pleased with our leadership position and recognition for our vision and execution. As pioneers in the ECM market, we will continue to innovate and develop next-generation cloud solutions that transform business by connecting information to work,” Rohit Ghai, vice president, products, EMC Information Intelligence Group. “We have the scale, technology, and industry knowledge to support IT and business as they move from relying on client-servers installed on premise to modern, cloud-based solutions for information management.”
The Information Intelligence Group, a division of EMC, delivers cloud-based solutions and services to transform how enterprises connect and collaborate with their employees, customers and partners by providing access to the right information, at the right time, in the right context.
Documentum ECM delivers the most comprehensive and highly-integrated ECM platform for managing the entire information life-cycle with superior security and governance.
