Boy Abunda’s top talents’ wraps up 2011 with a bang

The talents of Backroom have been at the forefront of the local entertainment industry throughout 2011, and as the year wraps up, they continue to make their presence felt with movies, TV shows, concerts and product endorsements.

Here’s what Boy Abunda’s biggest stars are up to this December and beyond:

Capping off an award–winning year, Ai Ai delas Alas was named Best Actress in Single Performance and Best Female Comedy Actress in the recent PMPC Star Awards and FAMAS Best Actress. Now, the country’s undisputed Comedy Concert Queen makes another run at the box office with her Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry Enteng ng Ina Mo opposite Vic Sotto. She is also busy taping the primetime series My Binondo Girl (with Kim Chiu).

Fans of Dawn Zulueta and Gretchen Barreto are excited about their upcoming drama series on ABS-CBN. Dawn will be next seen on the new ABS-CBN series Walang Hanggan while Gretchen joins the star studded cast of Alta.

The Philippines’ one and only Bossa Nova Queen, Sitti, takes centerstage once more with a year-end concert entitled M.R.S. or Most Requested Sitti at the Music Museum on December 29. Sitti promises to serenade fans with her most memorable hits and covers such as; Para sa Akin, Wag mo na munang sabihin, Tatooed on my mind, Your love is King and many others.

Funnyman Pooh has just returned from a tour in Canada and is a mainstay of Banana Split. Expect a night of fun and laughter with Pooh’s livewire performance on stage as he shares his happiness via a year-end concert at Metrobar also on December 29.

One of the most versatile young hosts, Bianca Gonzalez continues to host E-Live, TFC Connect, Cinema News, CGE STAR, and PBB Unli Day. She is also active in her advocacies for Unicef and Teach Kids To Learn Foundation.

Another award winning host, Drew Arellano, has become a reliable travel companion with his show Weekend Getaway on GMA News TV. He is also seen on the early-morning show Unang Hirit and the trivia show AHA on GMA 7.

“Tiyang” Amy Perez continues to hosts TV5’s controversial Face to Face, Untold Stories, Sapul, and K-Club. She is also part of the movie Enteng ng Ina Mo.
