Arsenio Riparip, head of the Manila Police District-General Assignment and  Investigation Section (MPD-GAIS), said the attempted abduction of Gurdev Singh took place on Wednesday at about 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Shiek Temple located along United Nations. Gurdev, 65, of 1097 Jordan  Plains Subdivision, Salvadore Street, Novaliches, Quezon City, had just emerged from the temple and was about to board his Mitsubishi sedan with conduction sticker BV 0428 when the suspects approached him. However, Temple guards saw the commotion and told the suspects to surrender. The suspects tried to escape but patrolling policemen blocked their way.
