Pharmaceutical companies from India are in the country to explore partnerships with local drug manufacturers, retailers and traders, according to Indian Ambassador to the Philippines Lalduhthlana Ralte.
The 30-member delegation from the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil) of India arrived Wednesday afternoon and will be in the country till Saturday, March 15, Ralte said.
Pharmexcil delegates will meet with local importers, distributors, retailers and manufacturers of medicines through the efforts of the Indian Embassy and the Philippines-India Business Council.
“This is purely a trade delegation. They will call on various departments and organizations, and will be talking about India’s pharmaceutical industry and their own companies,” he said.
Ralte said the Pharmexcil delegates will make a presentation at Dusit Thani Hotel on Friday morning, followed by a buyer–seller meeting in the afternoon.
“This is a unique opportunity to interact with Pharmexcil delegates consisting of manufacturers, exporters with focus on active pharmaceutical ingredients, formulations, herbal products, among others,” he said.
According to Pharmexcil, its delegation will visit three countries: the Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam.
