“Simply Delicious” is the theme of this year’s Indonesian Food Festival mounted by the Indonesian Embassy in Manila. A day-long affair that will take place on July 30, the festival will occupy SM Megamall A’s event center in Mandaluyong City.

According to organizers, a total of 10 booths will be selling delicious Indonesian dishes, which aim to showcase the country’s diverse, vibrant, colorful, and flavorful specialties at affordable prices. Two exhibitors will have free sampling to boost the endorsement of their Indonesian products. This event is not only aimed at promoting Indonesian cuisine, but also as a means of social mission by way of donating to selected organizations.

As such, the beneficiaries of the 2016 Indonesian Food Festival are The Ursuline Sisters of Roman Union in Fairview Quezon City, a charitable institution for children with special needs, and the Ibnu Khaldun Integratesd School, which is a Muslim school in Maharlika Village, Taguig City.

The program starts at 11 a.m., and food selling begins right after the official ribbon cutting ceremonies.

Besides enjoying delicious Indonesian specialties, mall audiences will also be treated to cultural performances through the day. Included in the program are Indonesian dances and musical renditions using the Indonesian traditional instrument called “angklung.”
