Enjoy top-of-the-line passenger care even before boarding with Cathay Pacific, as the premium airline now offers six different lounges at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), tailored to meet their passengers’ every need and whim.
“We are committed to offering our passengers the best lounges in the world,” declared Cathay Pacific Chief Operating Officer Ivan Chu. “Our significant investments in offering the very best to our passengers on the ground and in the air will continue in enhancing their overall experience when flying with Cathay.”
Cathay Pacific’s newest lounge, The Bridge, marks the airline’s sixth passenger lounge at HKIA. Conveniently located on Level 5 of the West Concourse at HKIA near Gate 35, the 2,567-square-meter lounge offers passengers an inviting environment of understated luxury. Developed with a residential design in mind by world-renowned architectural firm Foster + Partners, The Bridge allows passengers to feel relaxed and at home, making it the ideal space to unwind before a flight.
The Bridge’s North Wing features The Bakery, which offers freshly baked bread and pizzas, sandwiches, pastries, Asian and Western soups, and fresh salads. Also at the North Wing is the airline’s iconic Long Bar, together with a television lounge and general seating area.
At the South Wing are The Bistro, a self-service area where passengers can enjoy a variety of high-quality Asian and Western hot dishes and cold food selections; and The Coffee Loft, which offers brewed coffee and specialty teas, with muffins, pastries and cookies. The South Wing also features nine Shower Suites, all furnished with natural travertine stone, and complemented by oak slat walls. Each suite features a spacious shower that provides a calm, relaxing, and private sanctuary where passengers can freshen up before their journey.
Ultra-modern lounge The Cabin, conveniently located by Gate 23 on the central concourse, presents a contemporary, refreshing and dynamic 1,339-square-meter space. The Cabin introduces brand-new seating and dining concepts, foremost of which is the innovative and unique Cathay Solus Chair.
Aimed at creating an uplifting place that will give passengers a pre-flight boost, The Cabin also features five different zones including The Reception; The IT Zone, which boasts high speed Wi-Fi internet, 11 PCs, 6 iMacs, 20 Wi-Fi enabled iPads pre-loaded with the latest apps, and a video conference suite; The Deli, for made-to-order sandwiches, antipasti and salads; The Health Bar; and The Relaxing Zone.
The recently refurbished The Wing now offers a new level of comfort and service for passengers, with its 1,935-sqm Business Class Lounge on Level 7 and 1,002-sqm Business Class Lounge on Level 6.
Among the many changes and upgrades is the signature Noodle Bar, which, on top of its freshly made noodles, now also serves Chinese-style buns, or bao, including the popular Char Siu Bao.
The improved Noodle Bar has also doubled its seating capacity, and now features a larger, open-ceiling space with ample sunlight and live bamboo decorations.
The Wing also introduces the new Coffee Loft, which offers specialty coffee and freshly baked pastries. Self-service buffet counters featuring a wide variety of quality Asian and Western hot dishes along with cold food selections are also available on both levels of the lounge throughout the day.
The newly renovated Business Class sections of The Wing also offer a wide range of designer furniture including 35 unique Cathay Solus Chairs designed specifically to accommodate single traveler’s needs. The Level 6 lounge also houses all 24 of The Wing’s Business Class shower suites, where passengers can freshen up before departures.
