Inspection in Pasig jail yields no drugs


THE Pasig City Police Station and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology on Saturday morning conducted a joint inspection at Pasig City Jail, as part of the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs.

Pasig City police chief Sr. Supt. Orlando Yebra Jr. said the “greyhound” operation started at 6 a.m.

Police found prohibited items such as bladed weapons, knives and hacksaws during the surprise inspection, the second to be conducted at the jail.

No illegal drugs were found during the operation.

The city jail, located at Barangay Pinagbuhatan, houses to 1,237 inmates. Of that number, 171 are female inmates.
