The Board of Investments (BOI) approved investment proposals worth P616.7 billion in 2017, the biggest amount recorded so far in the agency’s 50-year history, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) announced on Monday.

In a statement, Trade Secretary and BOI Chairman Ramon Lopez said the amount was 39.5 percent higher than the P442 billion in 2016 and 23.5 percent more than the P500 billion worth of targeted investments at the start of this year.
