CORSIER-SUR-VEVEY, Switzerland: Iranian wrestler Amir Aziz Ali Akbari has been stripped of his world title and banned for life after testing positive for anabolic steroids at the world championships, the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA) said Saturday. The 26-year-old, also a world champion in the 96kg category in 2010, won gold in the 120kg category in Greco-Roman style wrestling in September in Budapest, Hungary. However, FILA announced in a statement that, “since this was his second positive doping test, he is no longer eligible to compete in FILA events”. Silver medalist Heiki Nabi from Estonia has been promoted to gold.
