The Islamic Society of the Philippines on Monday said lawyer Arthur Lim will be a trusted official of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) because he has integrity.
Almarim Centi Tillah, president of the Parhimpunan Sin Islam (Islamic Society), said Lim, who was recently appointed Comelec commissioner, left his lucrative practice and joined the government to cap his career.
“Beyond his glamorous and prestigious legal practice in the private sector, including the honor of becoming the first Mindanaoan to ever become president of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, he has opted to leave his legacy not to anyone, but to our great Creator, based on nothing but integrity, justice and righteousness, and the well-being of the people,” Tillah said.
“Because of this sense of commitment, I firmly believe Atty. Lim can be a trusted member of the Comelec, with the knowledge, experience and integrity which I have known him up close and personal, since childhood in Siasi, Sulu up to today. I can only prayerfully wish Allah’s/God’s blessing for his new retirement advocacy to the glory of his name,” Tillah added.
