ISUZU Phils. Corp. (IPC) announced that the 2013 Isuzu Truck Fuel Eco Run Challenge, held on December 7, 2013, has demonstrated the advantages offered by the Isuzu N-Series trucks’ excellent fuel efficiency to the transport needs of various companies.

IPC said the 2013 edition saw 15 N-Series trucks with full tanks flagged off in Santa Rosa City to travel toward Batangas City, before heading to Alabang and Cavite, then back to Santa Rosa City, for a distance of 190 kilometers. IPC said the trucks were again topped up to determine the amount of fuel they consumed during the trip. Both fueling activities were witnessed and certified by Michael Mercado of Smart Driving Corp., which served as the verifier for the fuel economy test.

According to IPC, leading the NHR category was New Metrofab Electric Works with a consumption of 14.81 kilometers per liter (km/l)—also the best result among all the participants. The NKR category was topped by Right Goods Phils. Inc. with 13.37 km/l while Airlift Asia Inc. led the NPR category with 9.02 km/l. The NQR category was clinched by Dominic Construction Inc. with 9.16 km/l.

“Being a committed responsible partner to our valued customers and to society, Isuzu has always given high importance to fuel efficiency in our products because we know the value of customers’ hard-earned money and their concern for the preservation of the environment,” said IPC President Nobuo Izumina.
