Isuzu mu-X named Best Mid-Size SUV

LAUNCHED in the Philippines only in September 2014 during the fifth Philippine International Motor Show, the Isuzu mu-X has already lived up to its promise of taking the domestic market by storm by clinching its first major award.

The Isuzu mu-X LS-A 4×2 was named as the 2014-2015 Best Mid-Size SUV in this year’s edition of Car of the Year – Philippines (COTY-P). The award was formally handed over to Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) Senior Vice President for Sales, Mr. Arthur Balmadrid in a ceremony held on November 25, 2014 at the Filinvest Tent Alabang.

COTY-P is organized by the Car Awards Group Inc. (CAGI), which is composed of around 70 members representing various print, broadcast and online media outfits in the Philippines.

Besting other mid-size SUV in the market, the Isuzu mu-X was chosen by the jurors for its design, performance and premium equipment, as well as for the value-for-money features that the model offers to Filipino consumers. The award body’s members also cited the Isuzu mu-X as a truly notable and worthy successor to the model it replaced – the Isuzu Alterra.

“We at Isuzu Philippines Corporation have always believed that the All-New Isuzu mu-X is an excellent vehicle that captures Isuzu’s core values of durability, reliability and fuel efficiency, while also being luxurious and family-friendly,” said IPC President Nobuo Izumina. “But what we are pleasantly surprised about is the fact that Filipinos, as well as distinguished organizations like the Car Awards Group Inc., have all appreciated this SUV model’s virtues so soon. I humbly thank everybody for this accolade.”

In the Philippines, the Isuzu mu-X is available in three variants. Topping the range is the MU-X LS-A that comes in both 4×2 and 4×4, followed by the MU-X LS-M 4×2 and MU-X LS.
