Parts of Mindanao and Visayas will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains on Thursday due to Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting these areas, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
PAGASA’s models indicate the ITCZ is affecting Visayas. ITCZ is the thick clouds coming from the south of Asia and a breeding ground for low-pressure areas (LPAs) or potential cyclones.
In its Thursday forecast, PAGASA said Visayas, the regions of Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Bicol and the provinces of Palawan, Mindoro and Davao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
PAGASA also said the rest of the country including Metro Manila will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
It added light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to north will prevail over Luzon and Western Visayas and coming from the southwest to south over the rest of the country.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. PNA
