He is a Filipino-Australian singer who first made waves as a finalist in the CBS television series Rock Star: INXS and has made a promising career on Broadway. She is one of the rising female stars in international theater having played the role of alternate “Kim” in Cameron Mackintosh’s Miss Saigon in London’s West End the last two years.
Together, Mig Ayesa and Tanya Manalang are bent to bring the house down with a twin bill concert at Resorts World Manila’s Newport Performing Arts Theater aptly dubbed Curtains Up! on July 14.
Both Ayesa and Manalang have their share of theater credits with the former starring in such productions as Burn The Floor, Rock of Ages, Thriller Live, Annie and We Will Rock You, among others. Manalang’s stage credits include roles in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, In The Heights, KAOS, The Sound of Music, and The King And I prior to landing the coveted role of Kim in Miss Saigon.
Curtains Up! teams up these two theater stars for a night of favorite Broadway and West End hits of past and present accompanied by the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Rodel Colmenar with concept script and direction by Freddie Santos.
Adding more star power to the show will be the special participation of Broadway Diva Lea Salonga.
