THE Ayala-owned Automobile Central Enterprise Inc. (ACEI)—official distributor of Volkswagen vehicles in the country—recently unveiled its premier interactive showroom.
Inaugurating it were Ayala Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala and President and Chief Operating Officer Fernando Zobel de Ayala, and ACEI President and Chief Executive Officer John Philip Orbeta.
The dealership is in Bonifacio Global City (BGC). It has an area of more than 6,000 square-meters and can showcase 18 vehicles. It also uses the Volkswagen Interactive Showroom app to service customers.
Orbeta said during the launch event that a similar system is only being used in VW’s showroom in Hong Kong. The app was developed by Linked Tech Solution in Hong Kong only in November last year. VW BGC is the second dealership to use it.
ACEI Manager for Market Research Gie Gilera said the showroom uses interactive tables and iPad tablets to browse car models, specifications and in scheduling test-drive appointments.
Along with the dealership, ACEI also announced the official opening of its VW service center, which is located on a 2,200-square-meter property on Sheridan Street in Mandaluyong City. The service center has 15 work bays and a customer lounge.
ACEI said it would soon put up a dealership in Cebu in order to reach the Visayas and Mindanao markets.
Fernando Zobel de Ayala bared at the inauguration program that the VW Passat and the iconic Beetle will be sold in the Philippines. He did not disclose the date.
Orbeta announced special prices for the newly unveiled VW Jetta and Polo Notch in February. The Polo Notch 1.6 TDI MT this month sells for P888,000 while the Jetta 2.0 TDI MT is priced at P1.098 million.
After the special offer, the Polo Notch will revert to its original price of P950,000 and the Jetta 2.0 TDI to P1.295 million. The soon-to-arrive gasoline-powered Jetta 1.2 TSI MT will sell for P1.240 million.
ACEI marketing head Arnel Doria had earlier reported that the gasoline variant of the Jetta will be launched in February.
