• Iverson in Manila to join charity event


    ALLEN IVERSON, a former National Basketball Association (NBA) most valuable player and 11-time All Star will arrive in Manila tomorrow to participate in a fundraising event for the benefit of Gawad Kalinga.

    The former star of the Philadelphia 76ers will arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminal 2 along with other former NBA Eddy Curry, Dermarr Johnson and many others.

    Iverson and two-time Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) grand slam coach Tim Cone will conduct basketball clinics for children aged 10 to 15 at the Gawad Kalinga Bulaklakan Chapter in Barangay Holy Spirit in Quezon City on November 4.

    He will then participate in a charity basketball game along with current University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) players, Kiefer Ravena of Ateneo and La Salle’s Jeron Teng, and former PBA players Jerry Codinera and Ren-ren Ritualo.
