The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) opens exhibit offering for July with Janos dela Cruz’ “A Visual Journal” on view at the NCCA Gallery in Intramuros, Manila until July 30.
A Visual Journal is an account of Delacruz’s philosophical, social and artistic journey throughout his career. Featured in the exhibit are prints, oil paintings and digital representation of his artworks. It is co-curated by Randel Urbano of the University of the Philippines Vargas Museum.
Dela Cruz is a graduate of Fine Arts with a major in Advertising Arts at the University of Santo Tomas. He is also a recipient of various artistic accolades like the UST Benavides Outstanding Achievement Award in 2006, Juror’s Choice of Merit at the 2014 Philippine Art Award and Juror’s Choice at the 2014 Metro Manila Arts Award.
Aside from winning national art awards, dela Cruz also attended the Arts Students League of New York in 2012. He also conducted solo and group exhibits locally and internationally. Moreover, dela Cruz is a member of the Philippine Association of Printmakers
Dela Cruz’ A Visual Journal at the NCCA Gallery is an answer to the mandate to offer exhibition space to established and emerging artists from all over the country. The exhibition is open for viewing Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm.
