TOKYO: Pressure has mounted on Japan’s professional baseball chief Ryozo Kato to quit after his office secretly changed the design of the ball for this season to make the game more exciting. The players’ union has called on the Nippon Professional Baseball organization to appoint a new commissioner who “can exert leadership with vision for the professional baseball’s future and a sense of responsibility,” media reports said on Friday.
