Japanese Ambassador Toshinao Urabe attended the turnover ceremony of a walk-in freezer vaccine storage facility for the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Muntinlupa City on November 18. The project was funded through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).

The grant amount from the GGP totaled $89,622 (approximately P3.6 million) and was utilized for the installation the walk-in freezer that will serve as storage for vaccines to support the full implementation of the Philippine government’s immunization program. The provision of the said facility is vital to ensure the vaccines remain in good condition.
