Some 35 members of the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) arrived on Wednesday afternoon at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport as part of Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) team.

Japan Embassy officials who met them at the airport said the Self-Defense Forces team will be conducting medical assistance in the central Philippines, “in response to the immense damaged caused by typhoon Yolanda.”
