Japanese Ambassador due in Davao City


Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Toshinao Urabe will be in Davao City today to hand over a certificate of commendation from the Japanese Foreign Minister to the Mindanao Kokusai Daigaku (MKD) at the opening ceremony of the Philippine Japan Festival.

The event will be held at the Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School Gym, where the ambassador will deliver a lecture entitled “Relations between Philippines and Japan” before some 200 students of MKD and several other educational institutions.

The lecture will begin at 1:30 p.m., and aims to cultivate a better understanding of the relationship between the two nations, especially among the young people who are expected to play important roles in society to further strengthen Philippine-Japan friendship and strategic partnership.
