A Japanese firm is set to expand its business operations inside the Hermosa Ecozone Industrial Park in Hermosa, Bataan. Gov. Albert Garcia said Sumi Philippines Wiring Systems Corp.’s (SPWS) proposed wiring harness plant will further promote Bataan as a preferred eco-industrial investment site. Hermosa Mayor Danilo Malana thanked SPWS for letting the town host its expansion project and cited the big economic impact of the company not only on the local residents but on the whole province as well. The new SPWS plant is expected to be completed in October 2014 and will be operational in April 2015. The first SPWS plant facility in the town became operational in 2012. At present, there are more than 3,000 workers employed in the said firm.
