Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu: A Japanese national was not allowed to board his flight after airport authorities found illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia in his possession.
Shinji Mori, 38, was intercepted by airport security at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport on Monday after a security checkpoint at the International Departure area. Mori, who was interviewed by DYAB Radyo Patrol thru an interpreter, admitted that he owns the drug paraphernalia and the alleged shabu. He added that he brought the tooter and shabu from Japan, and he forgot to leave it when he came to the Philippines on October 29. Violations of Sections 11 and 12 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against Mori, the police said. Mori is being detained at the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office detention cell while the Japanese consulate of Cebu already assigned a lawyer to handle his case.
