Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is expected to arrive in Manila on Friday night, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport-Media Affairs Division said on Thursday.
In an advisory, airport officials said Abe’s chartered flight is scheduled to touch down at NAIA’s Terminal 2 at 8:00 p.m.
Abe left Tokyo Thursday morning for a three-day visit to three Association of Southeast Asian Nations(Asean)-member countries including Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines.
He is to meet Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak in Kuala Lumpur late Thursday. On Friday, Abe will fly to Singapore to meet Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, while the Japanese prime minister will meet with President Benigno Aquino 3rd’s on Saturday.
Abe’s trips are meant to deepen security and economic ties with Asean. PNA
