Jardeleza richest SC justice; Leonen poorest


Associate Justice Francis Jardeleza is the richest justice of the Supreme Court, dislodging Justice Mariano del Castillo who held the spot last year.

Jardeleza, the most junior justice, declared a net worth of P244,413,320.16 with zero liabilities in his Statement of Assets Liabilities and Networth (SALN) for the year 2014. He was the former chief legal counsel of San Miguel Corp. for two decades before his entry with the government.

Justice Marvic Leonen is the poorest magistrate with a net worth of P2,098,780.57.

Del Castillo declared a net worth of P130,906,517.36 for 2014.

Justice Antonio Carpio was the third richest justice with P83.6 million.

Coming in fourth with a net worth of P76.7 million is Justice Bienvenido Reyes, followed by Justice Estela Perlas-Bernabe, P74.9 million, Justice Diosdado Peralta, P35.3 million, Justice Jose Catral Mendoza, P34 million, Justice Martin Villarama, P28 million, Associate Justice Lucas Bersamin, P27 million, and Justice Arturo Brion, P19,015,950.

Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno declared a net worth of P19.5 million while Justice Jose Perez listed an asset of P14.1 million.

Justice Teresita Leonardo De Castro had a net worth of P12.4 million while

Justice Presbitero Velasco, the second poorest justice, declared a net worth of P12.2 million.
