ROUND 3 of the 2014 National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC) Southern Series, held on April 5 at the Batangas Racing Circuit was dominated by JCT-Blanche team’s Nissan GT-R with a best time of 9.391 seconds, allowing driver Jonathan Tiu to win the Pro Class division.

JCT-Blanche team’s Sheldon Chua, in a Honda CRX, and Jayson Ong, in a Honda Integra, also secured first runner-up and second runner-up in Pro Class.

Tiu again bested the Quick 8 division with a quarter-mile time of 9.520 seconds.

Allan Ararao in the Vannitec Mitsubishi Evolution snatched first runner-up with Ong settling for the last spot on the Quick 8 podium.

Sorren Emprese’s Honda and Teddy Manguiat’s TMC Motors Daihatsu Charade battled it the Experts Class, with the former winning with a time of 13.111 seconds. Manguiat finished as first runner-up while Jeff Cruz took second runner-up with a time of 13.626 seconds.

Paolo Lim, Anson Huang and Ron Villorente were the top three finishers in the Sportsman Class. Phoebo Perez, Jeremie Cabreros and Mikolai Arolfo topped the Hotstreet Class.

The 2014 NDRC moves to the Clark International Speedway on May 3 for Round 3 of the Northern Series.
