A 91-YEAR-old woman and her housemaid were killed inside the former’s house in a subdivision in Barangay Sun Valley, Parañaque City (Metro Manila), police said on Friday.
Senior Supt. Ariel Andrade, Parañaque police chief, said the victims Erudita Santos, 91, and Ma. Joy Mendeza of legal age were discovered lifeless with stiffening muscles on Thursday afternoon.
The old woman was found lying on her bed, while the housemaid was inside the comfort room of the maid’s quarter.
Mendeza’s head was suspended on a basin with water.
Andrade noted that there was no sign of forced entry and the belongings of the victims remained intact and in order.
A few hours after the bodies were discovered, Mendeza’s boyfriend Christian Soneja, 24, showed up before barangay officers and confessed that he killed the two women.
Soneja, whose arms were slightly injured and had scratch marks, admitted he was driven by jealousy when Mendeza’s supposed other lover called her on her mobile phone.
The suspect was then with Mendeza inside the maid’s quarter and he himself was able to answer the call.
Irked, Soneja admitted he choked Mendeza and shoved her head in a basin filled with water until she lost consciousness.
He then turned his ire on Santos who witnessed the crime.
He said he covered the head of the old woman with a pillow, suffocating her.
A case of double murder will be filed against Soneja.
